Prior to becoming an English teacher at SHS, I taught university courses in composition and literature for 9 years, and tutored writing at the university level for 4 years. In addition, I have worked as a marketing content writer, staff writer for a university magazine, and freelance editor for multiple book-length projects.
I like to travel, read, and write: My most recent trip (July 2018) was to France; the best books I read over the summer break were You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie and I'll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara; and my current writing project is a near-future science thriller about the search to find a cure for aging. Since 2013, I have reviewed fiction for the magazine Strange Horizons.
